The only thing that was still great as usual was the clam chowder didn't disappoint. The clam strips looked like the crumbs at the end of the bag and not the long ones like we use to get and over cooked the shrimp were ok. ![]() dry and flaky they used to be nice and moist before when we ate there in the past. it had the panko breading and the fish was. We always ordered the fish grilled but this time they wouldn't grill it. We ordered the combination plate with Cod, clam strips, and shrimp We got a shrimp dinner salad and a bowl of clam chowder. We will save a lot of money and get much higher quality food by simply going to McDonald’s, much as I hate McDonald’s. We vowed never, ever, again would we eat anything at a Mo’s, and that we would tell everybody that we knew to avoid it like the plague that it is. A pleasure to eat (and it came from frozen also). Their fried shrimp was delicious, succulent, and very well cooked. The next day we went to the casino in Lincoln City and had their lunch buffet. Pretty much everything except the clam chowder, in both of our meals, was insipid, tasteless crap that had been bought cheaply by Mo’s, been in the freezer too long, and thrown into dirty fry oil by somebody who had no idea how to cook. There were a couple of teaspoons of clam strips on my plate, some inedible fish pieces, and onion rings that smelled like they had been dredged in sewage, and were totally inedible. Everything was ‘from frozen’, everything was fried in the same tired, overused oil, and everything had the same nasty taste to it. Mo would spin in her grave if she took a bite of this. I think it may be weak potato soup that somebody walked past once with a open can of clams. The “clam chowder” that Mo’s serves today is a very pale and watery excuse for clam chowder. I would say served, but it seemed to be thrown down with an attitude, rather than served. Some time later, our food was dispensed to us on the table. ![]() Our waitress, a bit aloof and perhaps a tiny bit surly, took our order and disappeared into the bowels of the kitchen with it. Kim ordered a shrimp dinner, and I ordered the mixed seafood platter with onion rings. So, finally, with me standing not 5 feet from the greeter’s podium, I got a message telling me that I had a table waiting for me. If there had been a line of fifty people waiting for tables, I could’ve understood it better, but I guess it’s just a way for them to get your email address. ![]() The “sweet little thing” who was the greeter insisted on acquiring my email address so that they could text me to let me know when a table was available, even though we were standing right there. Unfortunately we still had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be seated. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was that the dining room was half-empty. for a meal, and in spite of previous bad experiences, we decided that we would give Mo’s a try. Last Friday evening, my wife and I found ourselves arriving in Florence, on the Oregon coast, at 7:45 PM, and we were quite hungry.Īs it turns out even in the middle of summer, Florence appears to roll up its sidewalks at 8 PM.ĭesperate.
